Part 3: The Eurasian Economic Union

In this chapter, we will introduce you to the Eurasian Economic Union. A first unit provides a brief overview of the history, institutional structure, and policies of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The second learning unit addresses the difficulties and problem areas within the Eurasian Economic Union. The third learning unit draws on research on integration theories and discusses whether the Eurasian Economic Union should be considered as a regional integration project like the European Union. The fourth learning unit deals with the Eurasian Economic Union's relations with third countries. The focus will be on the European Union and China. In a final learning unit, the developments and possible shifts within the Eurasian Economic Union since the outbreak of the Ukraine war are considered.
